Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Prompt Academy (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Prompt Academy mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
In-app purchases: Subscription and payment transactions are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not collect or store payment card details.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage data: Lesson progress, quiz results, streak counts, XP earned, energy levels, and feature interactions.
Device information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
Crash reports: Stack traces and diagnostic information collected via Firebase Crashlytics when the App crashes or encounters an error.
Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized event data (screens viewed, lessons started/completed, session duration) collected via Firebase Analytics.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

Precise GPS location
Contacts, photos, or media from your device
Microphone or camera data
Browsing history outside the App

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Third-Party Services

5. Data Retention

Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 90 days of account deletion request.
Progress data: Retained while your account is active.
Crash and analytics data: Retained for up to 90 days by Firebase per Google’s standard retention policies.
Backups: May persist in encrypted backup storage for up to 30 additional days after deletion.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards including:

All data in transit encrypted via TLS/HTTPS
Data at rest encrypted by Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure
Access to production data restricted to authorized personnel only
Firebase Security Rules restrict data access to authenticated users’ own records

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that data promptly. If you believe we may have collected data from a child under 13, contact us at the address below.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Portability: Request an export of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Withdrawal of consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

Deleting your account: You can delete your account from within the App (Profile → Settings → Delete Account). This permanently removes your profile and progress data from our systems, subject to the retention periods in Section 5.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have the right to:

Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell.
Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
Request deletion of personal information.
Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

10. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored and processed on Google Cloud infrastructure, which may be located in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules. We rely on Google’s standard contractual clauses and other appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice or email before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
